My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult is an interesting story so far. I felt that I was able to connect with the protagonist, which is Anna. There are three children in her family, and her sister is sick, so her parents pay the most attention to her sister who has leukemia. Annas brother moved to the room which is above the garage, so that he could get his privacy. In the beginning of this book, I got a sense that the parents only focus on the sick child. If I was a parent with three children and one of them had a rare case of leukemia, then I would pay the most attention to them too, but in this book, the parents pay too much attention to one child. That is why Anna gets a lawyer, and decides that she wants to go to court. I think that the parents knew that they were giving the most attention to Kate, but they didn't really know how Anna really felt. Also, at first I thought that there was only one point of view(I thought that Anna was writing in first person), but as I kept on reading, I noticed that the book is written in different point of views.

I read that book too!!
i felt the way you felt too...
I really hated Sara (Anna's mom)because she always seemed like she loved Kate more than she loved Anna and Jesse. I understood why Sara was concerned with Kate, but anybody could die at any moment, it is just that Kate has more possibilities.
Well the book was awesomee
SPOILER-->kind of
(when you finish the book, you'll be soo suprised!!)
OH MY, no me gusta Sara tambien! (i do not like Sara also!) THat book made me so sad especially because i have a sister..i'm not sure i would have gotten a lawyer against my own parents. not sure i would hate my family that much, but i can see where Anna was coming from. it seems really wrong to make a child just for giving away parts of their body.
Your book sounds super interesting. I haven't read this book yet but i totally see Anna's parents just giving all their attention to Kate. Sometimes parents just seem to forget that their attention should be divided equally among all their children. I guess they just felt like Anna and her unsick sibling could take care of themselves without them because they weren't sick. They feel that Kate neeeds the most help too stay alive and they probably know she won't be around for long so they want to spend as much time with her.
I also read The Sister's Keeper.Such a good book ! I'm glad you're enjoying the book, because I did
(very much). It's a very touchy book and when I finished reading it,I felt different as the older sibling in the family. The ending is surprising, and it can change your point of view in life too.
Enjoy ! ;D
I've heard so much about this book. Every body in book club says it's so good. I know some background about the book, so I know that Anna is used to help Kate with her disease. To me it seems like the parents treat her as a "thing" not a daughter. What is Anna runs away one day, then who would the parents turn to for Kate's problem? I'd like to find out what happens in this book, so i'm probably going to read it.
First off I want to say that your background on your blog is really cool. I also want to say that the book you chose would have been my first choice but I have the book I chose at my house.
Hey Jessica~ This is Stephanie♥♥
I love your layout~!!! It's making me hungry o_O;; Anyways, I heard that book was really good! I would totally read it if I ever get the chance! It's so sad that the girl has leukemia. There's a girl in my church that has leukemia and it's so sad because she is such an angel... Well, have fun reading the book and keep up the good work!!☺
♥♥Love Stephanie<3----<<
I loveee "My Sister's Keeper." I've been wanting to read it since 8th grade, and this year, I read it in book club. And I absolutely loved it <3
Normally I don't like books with different POVs but I liked how in this book, it showed everybody's perspective on what was happening.
I think that Anna is very brave, in the fact that she got up enough courage to sue her own parents. I would never do that. I'd be too scared XD
Oh and I agree with sharon: When you read the ending, you will be sooo surprised!!!
Hey Jessica, I never actually read this book, so I really couldn't say anything that would connect to the story. Although I noticed that I was almost opposite to the story when you said that the main character had three siblings. I am an only child, but it still is not that great being alone :(.
